Thabat wa Nabat — is a grassroots initiative to cultivate vibrant community gardens in public parks across Jeddah and, eventually, throughout Saudi Arabia. These gardens will be edible, educational, and ecological, rooted in community care and collective imagination.

ثبات و نبات — مبادرة مجتمعية من الناس وللناس، هدفها زراعة حدائق مجتمعية حيوية في الحدائق العامة بجدة، وبإذن الله لاحقاً في أنحاء المملكة. هذي الحدائق راح تكون قابلة للأكل، تعليمية، وبيئية، وتنبني على رعاية المجتمع وتخيل جماعي لمستقبل أخضر.
ثبات ونبات (Thabat wa Nabat) Meaning:

The name Thabat wa Nabat (ثبات ونبات) is a creative play on the traditional Arabic storytelling phrase (Tabat Wa Nabat) تبات و نبات, often used to close children’s bedtime tales. Stemming from the ideas of being grounded, stable, and flourishing, it embodies exactly what the initiative seeks to facilitate on the individual, communal, and environmental levels. | ثبات ونبات هو اسم مبتكر مستوحى من العبارة التقليدية في القصص العربية للأطفال "تبات ونبات" التي كانت تُستخدم في ختام الحكايات قبل النوم. ينطلق الاسم من معاني الرسوخ والثبات والازدهار، ليجسّد تمامًا ما تسعى هذه المبادرة إلى تحقيقه على المستويات الفردية والمجتمعية والبيئية

Islamic Inspiration | الإلهام الإسلامي
Surah An-Nahl (16:11)
"With it He causes crops to grow for you, and the olive tree, the date palm, the grapevine, and all kinds of fruits. Surely in this is a sign for people who reflect."
"يُنبِتُ لَكُم بِهِ الزَّرْعَ وَالزَّيْتُونَ وَالنَّخِيلَ وَالأَعْنَابَ وَمِن كُلِّ الثَّمَرَاتِ..."
This verse highlights God's provision through nature and the importance of planting.
Surah Ya-Sin (36:33)
"And a sign for them is the dead land. We give it life and bring forth from it grain, and from it they eat."
"وَآيَةٌ لَّهُمُ الأَرْضُ الْمَيْتَةُ أَحْيَيْنَاهَا وَأَخْرَجْنَا مِنْهَا حَبًّا فَمِنْهُ يَأْكُلُونَ"
This demonstrates divine power through the revival of the earth and the act of planting.
Prophetic Guidance ﷺ on Stewardship, Giving, and Living with Good Character

“If a Muslim plants a tree or sows seeds, and then a bird, or a person, or an animal eats from it, it is regarded as a charitable gift (sadaqah) for him.”
Arabic: «ما من مسلم يغرس غرسا أو يزرع زرعا، فيأكل منه طير أو إنسان أو بهيمة، إلا كان له به صدقة» (Bukhari 2320, Muslim 1553) -
“If the Final Hour comes while you have a palm-cutting in your hand and it is possible to plant it before the Hour comes, you should plant it.”
Arabic: «إذا قامت الساعة وفي يد أحدكم فسيلة، فإن استطاع أن لا تقوم حتى يغرسها، فليغرسها» (Musnad Ahmad, Hadith Hasan)
This teaches us to continue doing good, regardless of circumstances. -
“The best of you are those who are best in character.”
Arabic: «إِنَّ مِنْ خِيَارِكُمْ أَحْسَنَكُمْ أَخْلَاقًا» (Jāmiʿ al-Tirmidhī, Hadith Ṣaḥīḥ)
This reminds us that true excellence is measured not by wealth or status, but by the goodness of our manners and the way we treat our selves, others and the world around us.
